Will a new phone allow my current plan to be changed?

I got to the checkout and was required to click agree to the customer agreement with the phone company before being allowed to finish the purchase. I read where it gives them permission to make changes to my plan. Last time I purchased a phone, I didn’t have to go through all of this and it felt weird so I canceled the purchase.

What changes does it allow the phone company to make?

iPad mini 5, iPadOS 14

You would need to ask your carrier but unless they made you pick a new plan you should be fine. If you previously had a non-5G device they may add 5G service to your account (usually no additional cost or the cost is offset by an equal credit amount. Verizon did this for customers on plans prior to all plans including 5G service for example). But again, you can contact your carrier for clarity

Then why is it required to agree? See I’m not arguing your point that the carrier would need to be contacted to actually change the plan. Ok? I get it. Restating the same thing you’ve already said doesn’t simply clarify it.

I am merely trying to find out why I have to accept that through my carrier from APPLE CHECKOUT to just to purchase a phone. See?

I cannot buy the phone through APPLE unless I click agree. I have to check THE BOX ON THE APPLE PAGE before I can just BUY THE PHONE. I’m trying to find out why that has to be done and why that is necessary and does it change anything FROM THE APPLE PURCHASE PAGE.
