What do you mean by "the jiggle"? If the text is jiggling, then there's an error. So, try Safe Mode...

Boot in Safe Mode:

In Safe ModeLogin Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another update install. You have a Silicon-based Mac. For instructions...

  1. Go here: Start Up your Mac in Safe Mode - Apple Support
  2. Scroll to: Start up your Mac with Apple silicon in safe mode
  3. Proceed form there as necessary.

Littles, Tnx for reply. Have done all of what you said many times prior to request for help. […]There is some kind of a glitch that causes the cycle.

Successfully Logging Into a Mac:

I do not get the error, and am not aware of any fixes. But, unsuccessful logins seem to be catching on in these forums (just nothing of the word “jiggle”, from what can recall). Question is: "Just how many people have reported this to Apple?"

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple with know nothing of this occurrence, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Select: "Software/Firmware Update" for the "Feedback Area"
  4. Comment: on when this issue began, and how you have troubleshot it, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
  5. Proceed from there as necessary

Littles, Tnx for reply. Have done all of what you said many times prior to request for help. I also changed password, reloaded Sonoma, went through first aid, and probably more. I referred to the jiggle as to what the password does when you enter the wrong one. The first attempt to log on, after turning computer on ,it seems to be working fine except the box returns to initial state to log on. There is some kind of a glitch that causes the cycle.
