iCloud gives this error: BRCloudDocsErrorDomain Code=2 “Logged out - iCloud Drive is not configured”

After updating to macOS Sonoma iCloud kept trying to download and upload a bunch of files and after filling up my drive I got this error: BRCloudDocsErrorDomain Code=2 “Logged out - iCloud Drive is not configured”. I tried rebooting the machine and deleting the Cloud Kit folder but all I got is the same mistake and sometimes it would say to turn on iCloud Drive even though I never turned it off.

MacBook Air, macOS 14.1

For me it solved itself eventually after multiple sing ins and sign outs but now there are about 740 objects waiting to upload and they are stuck. The killall bird command doesn’t work and I would be grateful if somebody has a solution.
