Dark screen after using screenshot

My screen remains dark after attempting a screenshot. It did not happen before I did one of the latest updates. When I call the screenshot, this happens and it does not take the screenshot. If I call the screenshot again, it takes the screenshot but the darkness remains. The only way to remove the darkness is by restarting the Mac. Could you please investigate this? I am almost sure this is a bug from your system update.

there is a "stop" button on your menubar.


that means you initiated a screen recording, and not a screenshot. you can click the stop button to end the recording.
