M3 Max MBP Not working with 30" ACD (Worked with M2 Max) Screen split into 3 sections

I have 2 30" Apple Cinema Displays which I have used for a long time with a 2018 intel MBP and then recently for about a month with an M2 Max. Connected via a club3d USB-C to DL DVI adapter.

This use case does not work with my new M3 Max MBP. The screen is split into 3 sections with the middle 50% correct but the right 25% is on the left and vice versa.

Switching to a different adapter solution does fix the display but only one display wakes from sleep. (Startech TB3 to dual DP then each DP to mDP then apple mDP-DL-DVI)

Very strange issue and support would be appreciated. Have tried rotation, different resolutions, only one display, different ports and nothing fixes it.

Hey, same exact issue with an old DVI-only 30" from NEC. I tried and tested many different combo of USB-C to DVI adapters / cables but none worked, until yesterday I tried a different route that finally worked:

you have to use the USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter and a Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter (the active one, with USB-A port and cable) in serie. Then connect the Apple adapter and the display with a DVI-D Dual-Link cable.

Note that for the Apple adapter to work the USB-A split-end cable needs to be inserted into a powered USB-A port. It has a passthrough port though, so you regain the lost port anyway.

I also had this exact issue today when my new M3 Max 14" PB arrived. I installed the Sanoma 14.4 and problem solved. Fortunately. Although I do still have the old powered Display Port to AVI connector as suggested by madsalmard206 below, I dont have USB C to DisplayPort and couldnt find one online so I was worried I would not have a solution. It's got nothing to do with batteries or sleep.

I too am having this issue with the M3 Max in a 16 MacBook Pro. This is my only external monitor connected to my MBP. Previously I was using a 2018 intel 15' MBP with this set up and it worked perfectly. Like Rorydaredking I am using the Club CAC-1510 adaptor (Dual DVI to Usb-c).

I've tried all different ports on the MBP M3 max, on ac and on battery, played in the settings and still nothing. I tried a friends MBP 14 M3 and it worked flawlessly.

Hopefully this will be resolved shortly.

That's easy, shut when not in use or during long absences.

Your display is obsolete and the DVI is older than ancient-prehistoric. If that's what you mean by "long-established", it's not a reason for Apple to fix.

Anyway, give it a shot before finding an issue with it. Sleeping gets you nothing, your laptop boots up in under a minute. So shut when not in use.

What a surprise, this does nothing to help me because closing the lid of my MBP just switches that display off and leaves the rest on. So as I said back in my second reply it will just leave my MBP on permanently and ruin the battery.

Just to reiterate, I do not want a solution for this display wake on sleep issue. I want a resolution for my use case ceasing to work. I do not want to have to use 4 daisy chained adapters and disable various energy features and ruin my battery just to have my displays work exactly as they did 2 days ago with a laptop manufactured 9 months earlier by the exact same company.
