Where is the swipe up option to locate phone after watchOS 10.1.1 update?

My watch updated to version 10.1.1 earlier in the week. I just noticed that the swipe up option to get to ping my phone is gone. It now gives me a calendar, my fitness, shortcut to text, and the weather. This is all stuff I have in my infographics face. Why take away this option? Where was it moved to? I cannot locate it anywhere. I don’t need two spots for things on my watch for it to take away two. I’ve tried googling this and cannot find a single thing. Tips led me no where. Am I missing something? If it’s completely gone how do I uninstall the update?

Tell Apple:

Product Feedback - Apple

Meanwhile, you can access those same features by tapping on the side button, the flat oval button next to the Digital Crown.

What's even better about the new way of accessing the Control Center is that you can now get to it from any screen, not just the watch face. Great job, Apple!

"Hey Siri, Find my iPhone"

"Hey Siri, Battery"

The previous Control Center swipe-up has moved to a quick press and release of the flat oval side button

Use Control Center on Apple Watch - Apple Support

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up Emergency services and the power off icon.

Control Center should then show you the iPhone ping icon (find my iPhone), Battery percentage, Flashlight, Water Lock, Airplane mode, Alarm silence, Theater mode, and all the other Control Center services.

An alternate way to get some of the Control Center services is:

"Hey Siri, find my iPhone"

"Hey Siri, Flashlight"

"Hey Siri, Battery"

"Hey Siri, Airplane mode"

Getting the press and release timing just right can be an issue. You can make it more reliable by changing: Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed “Side Button Click Speed” can adjust the press and release timing, so you get the Control Center display every time. Adjusting The "Side Button Click Speed" is also useful for Apple Pay’s double press and release. There is “Default” (sub second timing of needed), “Slow” (up to a second between press and release), and “Slowest” (up to 2 seconds between press and release). I like the “Slow” setting. NOTE: Slow and Slowest settings do not mean you have to wait a full second or 2 seconds between press and release. It just means you do not need to be super fast.

What happened to the slide up and find my phone option!! That was the most useful button on there. If I knew it was taken out in the update I would’ve have skipped it. Terrible decision who ever thought it was a good idea!!!!

Apple Watch -> Settings -> Accessibility -> AssistiveTouch can be used to access things like:

o Control Center

o Apple Pay

o Emergency Services and the Power Off icon (labeled "Hold Side Button")

o and many other things...

This will give you the Control Center that swipe up used to give you, and all the same services.

DO NOT hold the button, as that will bring up the Emergency services display.

APPLE YOU NEED TO PLEASE THE CUSTOMER NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! Do an opinion poll before you make changes that you think are progress!! Please PUT THE SWIPE UP FEATURE BACK!

Have you considered the possibility that Apple IS pleasing the customer? Maybe the thousands of users who complained that swiping up to reach the Control Center was inconvenient and not user friendly? And it really is a bad way to reach the Control Center, because you can only use it when a watch face is displayed. If you have an app open you can’t swipe up. But you CAN press the side button to open the Control Center, even when you are using an app.

And also consider the possibility that your opinion is not the only one that matters, and perhaps many other people disagree with you.

Please PUT THE SWIPE UP FEATURE BACK!

Apple sold about 200 million Apple Watches in the past 4 years (if you can trust numbers from the Internet). Assuming your thousands are 10,000, that is 0.005 percent of the Apple Watch base.

Also Lawrence Finch makes some very good arguments. I know when using an exercise app, I cannot swipe-up.

Regardless, Apple does not read this user-to-user technical support forum for feedback.

But you can send Apple feedback via:

Feedback - Watch - Apple

If enough users send feedback, it is more likely a decision maker will see it, and maybe take action.

Until Apple makes a change, quick press and release the flat oval side button to bring up the Control Center.

A quick press and release will bring up the Control Center that has the iPhone ping icon.

If you do not see the iPhone ping icon, then scroll to the end, and tap "Edit" where you will be able to add the iPhone ping icon to the Control Center display.

You should also tell Apple what you would like to see in future watchOS versions, relating to swiping and button actions via
