Where is the swipe up option to locate phone after watchOS 10.1.1 update?

My watch updated to version 10.1.1 earlier in the week. I just noticed that the swipe up option to get to ping my phone is gone. It now gives me a calendar, my fitness, shortcut to text, and the weather. This is all stuff I have in my infographics face. Why take away this option? Where was it moved to? I cannot locate it anywhere. I don’t need two spots for things on my watch for it to take away two. I’ve tried googling this and cannot find a single thing. Tips led me no where. Am I missing something? If it’s completely gone how do I uninstall the update?

You cannot downgrade. And that is a loosing approach, as you will not get security updates, eventually you will update your iPhone iOS version and it will stop talking to the Apple Watch, or you will get a new iPhone that needs a newer watchOS version.

Quick press and release the flat oval side button (see picture)

https://support.apple.com/guide/watch/control-center-apd06bc15da1/watchos

This will give you the Control Center that swipe up used to give you, and all the same services.

DO NOT hold the button, as that will bring up the Emergency services display.

You can tell Apple what changes you would like to see in a future watchOS update via

If enough users send feedback, it is more likely a decision maker will see it.

No. That does not give me the command center. It gives me all the apps, of which command center is not one.

Then you are pressing the round, rotating, sticking out from the case Digital Crown.

You press the flat, oval shaped side button next to the Digital Crown (see picture)

Use Control Center on Apple Watch - Apple Support

A quick press and release of the above pictured button, with the arrow pointing at it, will bring up the Control Center.

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up the Emergency services display.

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

Allows you to adjust just how fast you need to press and release the flat oval side button. This is also helpful when activating Apple Pay via a double press and release. I like Slow, while my Wife likes Slowest.

I HATE the update! I want to just swipe up to find my phone! Pressing the crown, finding the “find my devices” waiting for my watch to connect, then press make sound! 😫

BRING BACK SWIPE UP!

You do not press the Crown, you quick press and release the flat oval button next to the Crown (see picture)

Getting the press and release timing just right can be an issue. You can make it more reliable by changing:

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

“Side Button Click Speed” can adjust the press and release timing, so you get the Control Center display every time. Adjusting The “Side Button Click Speed” is also useful for Apple Pay’s double press and release. There is “Default” (sub second timing of needed), “Slow” (up to a second between press and release), and “Slowest” (up to 2 seconds between press and release). I like the “Slow” setting.

NOTE: Slow and Slowest settings do not mean you have to wait a full second or 2 seconds between press and release. It just means you do not need to be super fast.

Or say “Hey Siri, ping my iPhone”

Please PUT THE SWIPE UP FEATURE BACK!

Apple sold about 200 million Apple Watches in the past 4 years (if you can trust numbers from the Internet). Assuming your thousands are 10,000, that is 0.005 percent of the Apple Watch base.

Also Lawrence Finch makes some very good arguments. I know when using an exercise app, I cannot swipe-up.

Regardless, Apple does not read this user-to-user technical support forum for feedback.

Until Apple makes a change, quick press and release the flat oval side button to bring up the Control Center.

APPLE YOU NEED TO PLEASE THE CUSTOMER NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! Do an opinion poll before you make changes that you think are progress!! Please PUT THE SWIPE UP FEATURE BACK!

Apple does not read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

Meanwhile, you can access the function by tapping on the side button. It's the flat, oval button next to the Digital Crown. Look at the post from BobHarris earlier on this page for more details.

I would note that not everyone wants things to go back to the way they were, so perhaps don't presume to speak for everyone. I, for one, like the fact that I can now access the Control Center from any screen, not just from the main watch face. I think that's an improvement. It saves time and steps.

Yes! I sent feedback and said that I really like the improvement in the watch user interface; moving the Control Center to the Side button was brilliant! It means that I can open the Control Center from any app, not just a watch face. Especially useful when using the Workout app.

Have you considered the possibility that Apple IS pleasing the customer? Maybe the thousands of users who complained that swiping up to reach the Control Center was inconvenient and not user friendly? And it really is a bad way to reach the Control Center, because you can only use it when a watch face is displayed. If you have an app open you can’t swipe up. But you CAN press the side button to open the Control Center, even when you are using an app.

And also consider the possibility that your opinion is not the only one that matters, and perhaps many other people disagree with you.

Where is the swipe up option to locate phone after watchOS 10.1.1 update?
