Where is the swipe up option to locate phone after watchOS 10.1.1 update?

My watch updated to version 10.1.1 earlier in the week. I just noticed that the swipe up option to get to ping my phone is gone. It now gives me a calendar, my fitness, shortcut to text, and the weather. This is all stuff I have in my infographics face. Why take away this option? Where was it moved to? I cannot locate it anywhere. I don’t need two spots for things on my watch for it to take away two. I’ve tried googling this and cannot find a single thing. Tips led me no where. Am I missing something? If it’s completely gone how do I uninstall the update?

The oval button on the side of the phone does not bring up locate my phone with the ping. That button is for emergency contacts.

Quick press and release is Control Center

Quick Double Press and Release is Apple Pay

Press and hold is Emergency services

If you are having difficulties with the press and release timing, you can adjust the following option:

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

Default, which is a fraction of a second

Slow, which is up to about a second

Slowest, which is up to about 2 seconds.

Play with the settings till you find one that works for you on all 3 functions.

Do the developers actually test their updates?

how could you take away a simple but often utilised function like a ping for your own Apple phone?

terrible update!

solution… don’t lose my phone (yes) but quickly reverse the decision and make a new update. We all leave our phone in funny places.

find my devices is tedious, and I receive an email everytime I try locate my phone as though I’ve lost it and the ringtone is weak like that of the AirTag.

keep us updated Apple.

cheers!

Yea exactly…rarely does that side button pull up menu to find my phone. Usually calls ems. The most useful feature has become unuseable

Change the option in

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

From Default, to Slow, or Slowest, and you will find that you can reliably get Control Center, or the Apple Pay double press and release action every time, and not accidentally bring up the Emergency services display.

Whoever gave the Apple Feedback on this post has not read the HUNDREDS of messages from those of us who HATE the update and want it changed back. This was a FIX by anymeans and has only frustrated those of us who were very happy with our watches with the settings we had. I too am VERY upset at the update and think Apple did a stupid move with this one.

I don’t like the new updates either, the swipe button to Find my iPhone was so useful. I was also hoping that the new health focus would give me more options to take control of my browsing, instead it’s just mindfulness apps. The biggest strain on my mental health is that I have to use a smart phone and watch to stay in touch but I can’t turn off horribly addictive time sinks !!

Where is the swipe up option to locate phone after watchOS 10.1.1 update?
