App store crashing

Brand new MBP 14 M3 MAX, App Store crashing every single time, can't click away from discover because I've never used the App Store once on this laptop and it wants to show me the welcome to the App Store screen. Screen is grey for a fraction of a second, then boom, crash. Filed about 10 reports.

Was crashing before I updated to Sonoma 14.1.1, was hoping the update would fix it, but it didn't.

In case it matters, I have two apple accounts, one for iCloud, one for media & purchases. Managed to get logged in via Apple Music, but all attempts to access the App Store blow up (direct or clicking manage under settings).

If anyone knows how to set the App Store to not think it's the first time it's ever been opened so I can try and click away from discover, please let me know!

Happening to me starting a few hours ago on three different Sonoma 14.1.1 macs: (a) a brand new M3 MacBook Pro Max, (b) my previous M1 MacBook Pro Max (I just migrated from the M1 to the M3 MBP — have both up and running), and (c) an M1 Max Mac Mini. I used the App Store on (a) earlier today. I have not changed any thing on (b) or (c) since the release of 14.1.1. Now on all three machines the App Store immediately crashes on open / launch. It does NOT crash on my wife's M1 Max MacBook Pro running Ventura (13.5.2).

App Store crashing here on multiple machines running 14.1.1. Something wrong on Apples side.

Same here, brand new m3 max macbook pro, app store app is crashing. The problem is with an m3 max, the app opens and crashes so quickly you need quick reflexes to de-select the "discovery" tab.

Seems to be fixed as of 2023-11-23 19:04 America/Chicago.

I was working fine with a recently (purchased yesterday) m3 max. Now as of roughly 130pm eastern time I'm unable to access the App Store SPECIFICALLY the 'discovery' portion of the App Store. If I'm quick and select arcade or any other 'field' it will work but the moment I go to 'discovery' it crashes.

I did sign out of the App Store and back in and can duplicate the issue. I cleared the app stores cache. I rebooted my Mac. I verified there are no current OS updates pending. I've only had this laptop for roughly 24 hours from unboxing.

I just reinstalled Sonoma 14.1.1 on my M1 Studio pro max after the App Store mysteriously started crashing every time I tried to reopen it. Sent about 8 reports to Apple as a result. No joy with the reinstall the problem persists. Disk Utility and ONYX report no errors. Vexing to say the least.

Pointless now that it seems it's an App Store issue, but since I did it ... I had tried safe boot, a different account (a new "test" account), and re-installing Sonoma. Nothing fixed the problem. Was already feeling that surely it is an App Store issue. Glad they are on it.

Same for me, it seems something happened today. I reinstalled my OS and the same issue, I dont have issue with older version of macos

I have tried it on both of my MacBooks (M2 Pro, M3 Max) and both app stores crash.

I’ve had the same issue on M2 pro did a hard reset still happening, do you happen to have an error code? My hunch is that we will be seeing a 14.1.2 update later this week

Been in chat with support and nothing they suggested worked - but he did say Apple is getting a lot of complaints from customers about it. I am able to open apps through Finder-Applications

Were there any updates and if so did that help? I can't get the App Store to stay open long enough to click anything in it. Brand new Mac mini M2 Pro with upgraded specs about 30 hours out of the box. I even already did a complete wipe/reset to see if that would fix it. It didn't. This is extremely frustrating.

Well, sorry or happy to see that I am not the only one! Brand new M3 iMac finished the installation and tried to open the App Store and mine crashes. I reinstalled the OS and still it crashes! Is the Os turning into a thanksgiving turkey?
