App store crashing

I'm having the same issue on macOS Sonoma on my 14 inch MacBook Pro. It was working early but now it constantly crashes. It’s happening on a family members M1 iMac. I wonder if it’s a server side or macOS Sonoma issue.

I'm so glad I just found this thread!! I unboxed a refurbished Mac air m2 today and all I have done is upgrade to Sonoma on it. The app has failed to launch about 10 times, also signed in and out of apple iCloud. I hope they find a fix soon. I was going to return this Mac thinking it was the refurb issue.

I think it is some Thanksgiving bug. First one of the Apps required an update around 3 PM Eastern and then App store quits every time I want to log in. Uninstalled the App in question but no help. App store still quits.

I fill sorry for the tech guys. Hope it will be fixed in few days.

I will jump on the band wagon as well. Just bought my M3pro yesterday. Bummed I can't get into the App Store. Glad to know it isn't an issue with the computer. Had issue before the update. Update didn't fix it.

As of 4:42PM PST, it looks like the issue has been fixed for me. I can access and switch to-and-from the Discovery page in the App Store without issue.

Thanks to everyone who was bringing this up to Apple and putting this on their radar of priorities to hotfix!

Glad to find this and know it’s not just me. I was about to factory reset my two day old M2 Mini. Back on MacOS after a long time on Windows. Last Mac was running OS 9. Not a great start, hopefully fixed soon.

Hi Apple. I noticed today after gobbling up our turkey meal, that the app store on my Macbook M1 air 2020; keeps crashing. I reopened app store and same issue happened. Is this because everyone is home for the holiday? I’ll try again over the weekend. 🔥🙏🦃🤪

I started having this problem also today. Apple Care people put me through the hoops for an hour with no solution. Chat was handed off to several people and then they dropped it. 😵‍💫 Worst experience with Apple in over 20 years.

I would be interested too. My guess is someone had added some catch-really-bad-things breakpoint instructions in some library/module that was update in 14.1.1 and used by the App Store app’s Discover tab and was being trigger by a protocol exchange with the App Store. I’m thinking Apple pushed updated App Store code itself (aka workaround) to not trigger the 14.1.1 crash (which is still present in the 14.1.1 code). But I’m not an Apple dev.

I reinstalled ( format Disk ) but the same issue

I did that. No joy. Complete wipe and reinstall to factory defaults did nothing to fix it.
