After iOS 17.1.1 update my iPhone apps are not working correctly

Sooo many things not working! Volume is messed up, have to constantly readjust it, auto adding ALL phone calls to address book, messages are totally not working- can’t send a group message anymore, the message box is gone after adding more than 2 people, the auto correct is wayyyy out of control- have to backspace and it’s constantly adding 2 letters that have not been typed. Like what are you doing to us? Are you making us have to buy a new phone every year? Samsung looking mighty fine rn, and with all these glitches plus more, you’ll be losing many customers, esp those with older phones. I have iPhone 13 and this is awful! It’s not even paid off yet!

I totally agree. I have been suffering through many of the same problems. This is beyond absurd. It smacks of Apple having a lack of effective quality control and a general disregard for its customers. Even in writing this up, I have had a nightmarish experience due to the auto correct feature regressing to something far worse than when it was first released years ago in the marketplace. Moreover, I find that I am unable to forward any photos I want to send to others via any available options such as text, email, etc.


To Apple: This update is a complete embarrassment and failure. You can and must do better. We were already on the precipice of transitioning to a competitor in the future. If this isn’t fixed very soon to our liking, we will definitely move on beyond Apple.

17.4.1 update no better. EVERY update wrecks something. Now editing videos never finishes saving. Eg., cut off back end of a video and hit save. Volume and audio greyed out with preparing video displayed and it sits there forever. If you hit the back arrow and reopen the video then it will edit the video. Never had to do this before “update”. If just one update would actually work, I’d never update ever again.

Messaging pics with text still sends the first letter to the end of the sentence. That’s been screwed up since at least ios 16 garbage.

I did the iOS 17.1.2 update. And it did NOTHING to help >:-(

messaging is the worst! I have to use swipe type or whatever the correct term is and every since the update (BOTH of them) three things have changed.

  1. If I get the wrong word I could always backspace and AC would give me, typically, the correct word I wanted. Post update... NOPE!
  2. WTAF is with the + sign and adding 2-3 steps just to add a pic or gif etc...
  3. Constantly changing caffeinated to Vaginated!? Just stop it! Although that last one had provided hours of entertainment to my friends and family, business connections are not so amused.
  4. STOP changing whole sentences‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Apple... I have been loyal like the other 1k plus people bitc.... about this, but I have a track phone sitting idle in a drawer that's looking mighty **** good right now. And I WILL hit those buttons 3-4 times for one letter like the OG I am.

So, I took that day off and went to the “Genius Bar” where I found, after three hours, the reason they’re “geniuses” is because they get paid to walk around all day, being rude, and not knowing how to fix anything. *If it helps, I did finally reach someone at Apple by phone who said she wasn’t supposed to admit there are problems with the 17.1.1 update, but they’re getting a lot of calls. Shortly after that, we got disconnected…I never knew until now that APPLE IS A SCAM!!

I have encountered several issues with my iPhone following an upgrade:

  1. After the upgrade, all my apps disappeared, and the device reverted to factory settings upon connecting to the computer.
  2. The update process is taking an excessive amount of time.
  3. I would like to request the inclusion of a backup option for users to safeguard their data before installing this patch, particularly for those who do not have iCloud backup. I have experienced data loss with this patch.

Furthermore, it is crucial that during updates, the device does not retain any text or service providers such as calls and network from previous patches.


4.It's worth noting that these issues are specific to iPhones and have not been observed with other mobile devices.


5.Additionally, I must highlight the significant amount of time wasted in reinstalling all the apps and inputting passwords, which reflects poorly on the developers, testing team and the overall group involved in the update process.
