They should both be compatible. LG however, may only offer the Apple TV+ app (note the plus), while the Sony should offer the full Apple TV app. (no plus)

The TV+ app is a limited version which only offers access to the Apple TV+ subscription service.

The full TV app, offers access to the subscription service, plus the iTunes Store, and your own library of purchases.

Both TVs are compatible with an Apple TV streaming box however.

As I understand it, that goes for select older models LG TV: 2016–2017. The current models should have the full Apple TV app available. QNED is 2020 or later.

Thanks. If that's the case, then they should be equally compatible. Could not find a definitive answer on which app is supported when I searched before, but now, going by the LG store website, it does seem to be the full Apple TV app.
