Can't buy app on App Store

When I tried to download Telegram (to my MacBook Air 2, with OS 14.1.1) from the App Store, I got this message: "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the App Store. Please review your account information." When I hit "Review" I am sent back to the page that asks me to sign in, and when I do that I am sent back to "This Apple ID has not yet...." The App Store is not rejecting my Apple ID or password. What else am I supposed to do?

When you get that message on your screen, tap Review to sign in, then review your account information.

Click Review repeatedly.

Some people have only had a response after a second or subsequent click.

Try to download a free app at the App Store.

For example try to download this (is an free app - iPhone).

or try to download this ((is free app - macOS)

Log in at appleid.apple.com and make sure you have payment information stored there.

fyi: Not all credit & debit cards seem to work with App Store / iTunes Store, try a different one, or preferably a credit card. If your card is not accepted as a paymenf method, you need to contact your bank.

You can download free apps, but you may need to have a valid payment method on file, even if the app you want to download is free.

You can have a credit card / debit card on file and an Apple Account balance.

If you have set your Apple Account balance as your default payment method, your default payment method will be used first by Apple when you need to make a payment.

Free apps has also In-app pruchase.

If you want to change your card, add first the new card, then remove the old one.

or if you want to use your Apple ID balance, you need to set your Apple ID balance as your default payment.

If you link your CC to your Apple ID, it will not be published. I also linked my CC to my Apple ID.

Don't give other people access to your iPhone or other Apple device,

Raicya. Thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately, none of your recommendations worked. I can't even "buy" the two free apps you recommended. All of the information for me on appleid seems correct.

I prefer to use credit cards to pay for online purchases, but am VERY reluctant to store my credit card information on public websites. Do I have to store my credit card information on appleid before I can "buy" free apps?

Thanks again Raicya; but this still doesn't answer my original question, which is
