over size of library files

I deleted 6 gb of lib.. Files>delete library files.... it reduced to 340 mb, after several second it start to increase to 6 GB again. I do not need continious rendering

FCP Project too big - deleted files still taking up space I was working on a fairly small FCP project - then accidentally imported and enormous amount of files that have nothing to do with it. I deleted the files - it said they moved to the trash. I closed FCP & it's been about a week - that small project still says it's 500GB big so obviously those files are somewhere taking up space. Any idea how to delete them once and for all?

"Not enough disk space" pop-up on Final Cut Pro this icon is popping up when trying to move clips onto timeline, can't understand why, I have deleted all generated library files under 'files'. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Just to amplify Tom's answer, go to Final Cut Pro/Settings and in this window that opens ensure that Background render is NOT selected under the Playback heading.

Switch off background rendering in the application settings.
