Cannot reduce size of a 900GB fcpbundle file

Aloha All,

I have an almost empty FCP template that generates a 900GB fcpbundle file.

I've followed all the online advice:

  • All generated files deleted
  • All original media that formed basis of template deleted in the project
  • All original mediate on my hard drive deleted

Now matter what I do, the template fcpbundle file remains at about 900 GB.

I don't want to delete the new Library as the template has taken weeks to build.

Can anyone suggest something that I might delete to wrangle this beast?

Mahalo!

Aloha,

Thanks again.

Problem solved on another discussion board.

Solution:

"Show contents" for fcpbundle file that's causing problems.

Find the problematic files: I found 900GB worth!

To prevent future problems:

When Deleting Generated Clip Files, the LIBRARY must be selected.

I've been doing it from the Project.

And as I only scream for help when my hard drive gets overwhelmed, that means that many past, ostensibly deleted projects, still have a ton of (unseen) files in the bundle.

My template is down to about 5GB.

Thanks again,

Cheers,

Cat
