HomePods mini gives a 2 sec delay when using them as Mac speakers

Connected to a MacStudio, using the HomePod minis as default speaker, they have a 2 second delay.

Using apps as YouTube in safari, MP4 player, shortly said all the apps with a dedicated airplay button don't suffer with this delay. So it's technically possible to get rid of the AirPlay delay.

Is there a workaround for the "non AirPlay" apps.

I very often use Wondershare Uniconverter to do small video edits. Not possible to use this with the HomePods due the delay.
