Call waiting issue

Hi everyone, I have an iphone 14 with an italian e-sim (iliad) and I recently moved in Ireland for work. In Italy I always had call waiting option working but since last weeks If I'm in a call and someone rings me call waiting doesn't work and I never know that I have received another call.

I went in settings_phone_call waiting, I enabled it but nothing. Closing and re-opening settings, call waiting remained off.

Do you know what I can do to fix it? I thought it was due to the fact I'm abroad with a sim from another country but nobody is able to give me a confirmation.

Call Forwarding / Waiting...

For information about conditional call forwarding (if available from your carrier) when the line is busy or not in service, contact your carrier for setup information.

I have contacted my carrier and he told me that it is an issue of the device, not of network.. Do you know why?
