I would like to change my email on my account I have gotten married so I did not know if that could be possible or if I would have to create a totally new one then email my contacts and let them know if the change in email

You can update your email address Change your Apple ID - Apple Support at appleid.apple.com by signing your Apple ID , its password and account credentials from a web browser .
The first and last name can be changed Change Personal Information settings for your Apple ID on Mac - Apple Support
Click on personal information , again click on your name , the first and last name can be edited , finally click on save .
The email address will now become your new Apple ID , you can sent mails to your recipients and notify them about changing of address Send an email in Mail on Mac - Apple Support ( using as a Mac ) , Send email in Mail on iPhone - Apple Support ( using an iPhone ) .
