My track pad isn't working properly.

I have to press hard on it to make it function.

You do not say what exact Mac...


Sounds like a hardware fault


Track pad is not mechanical, is touch sensitive

How to use the Force Touch trackpad



You can make any changes here that might help you

>System Settings>Trackpad




Check your coverage

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"

The 2014MBP had some known issues with long term trackpad use, The 2015 MBP was the worst in this regard.


Typically a new cable is all that is required. These connections are easy damaged...


any computer repair shop that works on Mac can diagnosis, estimate a cost and do the repair— if you decide to go forward with this computer.
