Home Sharing does not use iCloud services, and does not need signing in to iCloud. Home Sharing does need an Apple ID account, which may optionally be named with an @icloud.com address.
AirPlay does not use iCloud services, and does not need signing in to iCloud.
There have been a few changes to iCloud since 2022-12 that may affect iCloud on 2nd and 3rd generation devices.

- Advanced Data Protection for iCloud as an account property may invalidate some iCloud services on devices with older software. This may have been activated through updates on one of your other devices. ADP can be turned off, if wanted.
