Wondering if "Find My" and the "Find My" network was turned on when the AirPods went missing.

To mark your AirPods as lost, the Find My network must be on before AirPods are lost.

Thank you kindly for your reply. To mark your AirPods as lost, the "Find My network" must also be on before AirPods are lost.

Wondering if the "Find My network" was turned on as well as "Find My". If your AirPods support the Find My network, you should also be able to mark them as lost.

"The Find My network is available for AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro (all generations), and AirPods Max. If you have AirPods Pro (2nd generation), you need iOS 16, iPadOS 16.1, macOS 13, or later to use the Find My network".

It is too late to change it now, yet you might want to see if it is turned on or not:

On iPhone, open Settings > Bluetooth. Tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods, then scroll down to Find My network and see whether it's turned on or not.
