When trying to reinstall macOS i get a “the recovery server could not be contacted “ message
I’ve tried starting it up in the internet recovery mode but still get this message.

If you can boot your Mac (or have another Mac available), download the High Sierra installer, create a bootable installer drive and install from there. (You will need a good quality USB flash drive, at least 16GB.)

The Internet Recovery server for High Sierra and earlier is gone as of May 2023.
