Unable to share and collaborate a note getting error message "An Error Occurred Unable to start collaboration". Anyone find a solution for this?

I have been dealing with this for way too long now. I went through many possible solutions for this already but nothing seems to be working. Can't collaborate if I try to share the note via my MacBook Air either which tells me it has to be a setting somehow that is preventing me from collaborating a note with another iPhone user. My iPhone has the latest iOS software update (iOS 17.1.1). Thanks.
