To sync your notes across your devices, ensure iCloud notes is enabled on each device by following these steps:
iPhone and iPad
- Open Settings
- Tap [Your Name]
- Tap iCloud
- Tap Notes
- Enable Sync this iPhone (or Sync this iPad)
Open Notes and wait a few minutes as it may take a bit for it to sync at first, especially if you have a lot of notes.
Mac
- Open Settings
- Click [Your Name]
- Click iCloud
- Click Notes
- Enable Sync this Mac
To ensure new notes are created by default in iCloud, follow these steps:
iPhone and iPad
- Open Settings
- Scroll down to Apps
- Scroll down or search for to Notes
- Tap Default Account
- Select iCloud
You can toggle on or off On My [Device] notes in here as well if you would like. On My [Device} notes do not sync across devices.
Mac
- Open Notes
- Click Notes in the Task bar next to the
- Click Settings
- Set Default Account to iCloud.
You can toggle on or off On My [Device] notes in here as well if you would like. On My [Device} notes do not sync across devices.
Notes are synced and updated across devices periodically and typically regularly on a strong Wi-Fi connection. If on cellular data, it may not regularly check and update notes across devices as frequently so as to reduce cellular usage.
