Re-installing High Sierra over High Sierra?

Hi, I just installed High Sierra on an 2010 Mac Pro (still works like a charm, knock on wood) using an external USB thumb disk. But, after upgrading from Sierra, I am now getting the beach ball spinning when I do certain tasks and takes about 3 mins for the application to finally respond. Is it okay to re-install High Sierra again using the same method or should it be done another way? I have another internal drive with High Sierra installed with an USB thumb disk and no issues. Thanks

If still slow, consider downloading and running this little "discovery" utility, Etrecheck. it changes NOTHING.

it contains little tests for speeds of devices, CPU utilization, memory usage, energy usage and a digest of recent problems, in one easy to use package. it does not even need to be Installed.

if you follow the directions faithfully, its report (pre-laundered of all personally-identifiable information) can be "Shared" to the system ClipBoard, the Pasted into an Additional text window in a reply on the forums.

Use Etrecheck Pro for free
