No timestamps while trimming an audio file in Quicktime

Is it just me, or is it the most blatant software oversight of all time that Quicktime doesn't show you the time frame and duration of a clip while trimming an audio file?

quicktime help I want to remove the audio from my video using QuickTime and add another audio track to it, looking at help it suggests going to edit on the toolbar of QuickTime and click “remove audio”. Looking on the edit there is no facility for this, do I need a different version of the software? Which versions have this facility? thanks

how to change the duration of multiple clips in the time line from the start of the clip is there a way to change the duration of multiple clips from the start of the clip We have multiple clips and need the reduce the duration from the start of clip however when using control D the duration form the end is reduced not the start how to change the duration keeping the end point the same please help
