Unresolved Discrepancy in Returned iPhone 15 PLUS and Apple insisting on not refunding

TLDR;

  • I ordered an iPhone 15 PLUS BLUE 128GB (W1225629531) from Apple Store Online on 22nd November, 2023.
  • It got delivered on 23rd November, 2023.
  • I DIDN’T OPEN THE PACKAGE TO SEE WHAT THE CONTENT INSIDE WAS, NEITHER DID I TAMPER WITH THE PACKAGING OR SEAL.
  • I initiated a return the same day it got delivered on 23rd November, and dropped it off at the designated UPS Access Point and got a confirmation of when UPS delivered it back to the warehouse.
  • Got an email from Apple on 28th November saying that they won’t be replacing or refunding me cuz the product never arrived back at Apple.
  • A call to Apple Support on 29th November 2023, and I was informed by the rep., that it was an iPhone 15 Pro Max that was received in the package I returned, which I am clueless about since I never opened the package nor the seal when it was initially delivered. 



PS: The reason for returning this iPhone 15 Plus Blue 128GB was because I decided to go for a bigger size, which I ordered another iPhone 15 Plus Blue 256GB to collect in store.

UPDATE!


I was contacted by an Exec in regards to my mail to the Apple Leadership, and he assured me a thorough investigation would be opened.


A week later, he reached out to update me that a resolution has been reached an a refund would be made. I was also offered a gesture of goodwill compensation.


I am just honestly glad that it was resolved and I didn't have to pay for a device I don't have with me, so I'm relieved.

Hello for the last time~ If it were me …I would have noticed the discrepancy before sending it back. A video of opening the package would have resolved all questions here. Then I would have gone to my nearest Apple Store with video and device in hand. The fact of the matter is we don’t really know what is happening here and can only offer so much assistance. So…now here you and I are in a debate…again.

I read through the other thread and followed the actions some of the affected members did. I am hoping for an escalation and resolution as soon as possible.


I didn't take any picture of the package when it arrived as I had no intention of opening it or using it. I would assume a CCTV captured when I dropped it off at the UPS Access Point though.


Also, I have requested for the pictures of the "iPhone 15 Pro Max" that was said to had been returned and they have not been able to provide it. I have asked to know what would be done with it, and I was told it would either be recycled or kept at the warehouse.
