My iPhone will not let me make calls or texts

It seems like that your iPhone has no cellular connection. Have you updated your iOS lately? If so, I would try and install a Carrier settings update If I where you

1. Make sure that your device is connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
2. Tap Settings > General > About.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to install your carrier update.

Contact your wireless carrier. Your iPhone either isn't connected to their network or there's a problem with your account on it.
