I am using my personal Air laptop for work. I have a login profile for my organization but cannot seem to access their virtual MS suite of products or even save files from one profile to another

that profile may be tied to active directory. Your work company have under Apple menu -> System Preferences or Settings "Profiles" on their computers. In which case they have a mobile device management software which lets them install specific profiles unique to the work computers. Ask your work company if they have a VPN you can use to connect to your profile from home, or a Citrix Workspace.
Keep in mind computers tied to work generally should not mix with home computers because of privacy concerns of customers. Alternatively if you start letting your work monitor your home computer, they may look at your private photo libraries etc. This may not be desirable. It is good to keep good boundaries between work and home.
