ECG not working with certain bands

Hi everyone,

I'm not really asking a question but I'd like to share my experience.

I Couldn't run an ECG with my Watch Ultra I bought second hand.

The countdown sometimes started but I had to hold my finger very tight on the crown and even push it. And even like that it was impossible to get a full 30s to get a proper reading.

I was puzzled because I never had any problem on my precedent Watch 4.

So I browse the web looking for answer, I rebooted the watch several times and nothing worked.

I decided to contact Apple and I scheduled a call.

But before the call, in order to be the perfect student, I took off the generic strap to put an Apple one.

I tried and I could get a perfect ECG !!!

On my Apple watch 4 I always used the Nike strap it came with. I never switched it.

On my elastic generic Strap where is a metal buckle on contact with the skin, I think that somehow it jams the faint electric signal the watch send into the body to run the ECG, maybe there also is a problem of decoupling between the strap and the watch.

So If you have troubles running an ECG on your watch, among all the things you can do, changing the strap is one of them too !!

Best Regards.

Vincent.

The genius found that the digital crown touch input was non responsive.

The watch had to go on repair.

So probably changing the strap had no influence whatsoever in my experience.

Forget about my post ;-)
