Diagnostic Code PPP020

Macbook suddenly stopped charging last night. It's brand new. Square charger unit and magnetic plug both felt hot. Light on plug was extinguished. Tried a different charger....same results. Ran diagnostics with charger plugged in and without. Same results. Thoughts? Is this common an new Macbooks?

This diagnostic code crosses to:

PPP020No power adapter was detected.Make sure that you're using the correct power adapter, disconnect the power adapter from the computer and wall outlet, then reconnect. Run the test again.

If you're using the correct power adapter that shipped with your new Mac, then I'd take it in to the Genius Bar and let them look at it. This being said, it appears you're using an 11" MacBook running MacOS 12.6. If that's the case, this Mac is not even close to being "brand new".

I'm not running the machine you desribe at all. Actually I am running a 14-inch MacBook Pro with Sonoma 17.1.2. I don't know from where you're getting the configuration and OS information you claim I'm running, but those basic assertions are wrong.

I bought this MacBook Pro about a month ago. Your commentary about my computer being not new, combined with your inaccurate assertions seems sarcastic, surprising, unwarranted, unhelpful and unprofessional.

It seems I will have to take the machine into an Apple store for further assistance.

Thank you for your reply.

My apologies for your outrage regarding my reply. I was simply looking at the information at the bottom of your original question, as shown below. Indeed, you should take it to the Genius Bar (including your power block and cable) and have them look at it, since it's brand new.
