Check your notification settings. Do you have Preview set to on? I still see the sender with my Gmail app. There are settings both in Settings on the iPhone and also in Settings on the app itself.

You are using Google's Gmail app, not Apple's Mail app. Check your settings for this app. If that fails to resolve it, seek assistance from them.
