Yes, this printer should be compatible with your MacBook Pro.


This printer has the option of being connected to your local network, either by wire or by wireless.


As far as hacking via wireless communication, it would be no different than your other wireless devices. The key is to use a strong wireless password and strong wireless encryption type, like WPA2 or WPA3 for your network.
