Overall I like FCP for iPad, but for me there is a fatal flaw. Unlike FCP for Mac and iMovie there is no way to view the length of an edited clip before sending it to the timeline. I prefer to keep the length of clips between 2 and 3 seconds, and other than checking each clip after it is in the timeline with the Inspector, it doesn’t seem this is possible. 😢

Actually, you are right and I am wrong.
The numbers at the base of the viewer are showing the Playhead time position on the clip, not the duration.
You can use feedback to put in a feature request if you need this feature added.

Many thanks for the reply Meg. I do so wish your example was the case, but it is not. In your example, I’m finding once the clip is sent to the timeline, it will not be 27 seconds. I have no idea where FCP is getting the number we see.

Is the source material shot at the same frame rate the timeline is set to?
