I'm trying to change the folder color and I normally take the steps by selecting New to Clipboard in Preview. It is not enabled on my new computer. Can you teach me how to enable it? My colorful folders keep my desktop organized. Thank you.

Just to be clear, right click on a folder and chose "Get Info". Then click on the folder icon in the Get Info window. Press Command+C. Open Preview and "New from Clipboard" should be enabled.

FWIW, the only reason "New from Clipboard" would be greyed out is if there is nothing in the clipboard. What exactly did you copy?
My experience from Keynote to Preview: If you only copy text, it might be greyed out. Insert a "graphics element" like a box or something behind the text, then it should work.

I followed my usual steps to change a folder’s color. I hovered over the default blue folder. Then clicked the Info button. Then clicked the Copy button. Next, I was going to Preview to click New to Clipboard and proceed from there. I’ve done these steps dozens of times, but the button was greyed out. As I said, this is a new computer. Do I need to enable something? Thanks.
I see the aqua blue folder icon image you sent that is highlighted. My folder image was highlighted as well. Seems like we're not getting anywhere with this issue unfortunately. Maybe someone else has a solution to enable New to Clipboard. Thank you.

Other than perhaps the icon wasn't actually selected, no. Did the icon seem to be highlighted?

Yes, I understood that "New from Clipboard" was greyed out. I can't tell you why you can't see the image I posted.
Are you using a third-party clipboard application which may not be entirely compatible with Preview?
I’m not using a third-party clipboard. I’m using the one the comes with the MacOS Monterey system. Thanks.
