Apple 4K not playing sound

I've had my apple 4k for a few months and it has been connected to a Samsung TV for that time. Playing sound on it was no problem... until this recent update. Whenever I play YouTube videos, it's fine. However if I want to play a show on another app (i.e. Netflix, Prime, etc.) it stops. The show will continue playing, but with no sound. I have tried EVERYTHING! Changed the sound, checked my TV's sound, latest was changing my HDMI cable for a newer one (it's 4k supported), still nothing. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this besides me exchanging the 4K for a regular apple TV? Especially since it worked fine BEFORE the recent update on it.
