How to reset HomePod ?

You say "pushing on top and red light turning on". When the red light comes on do you continue pressing with your finger, never lifting up? I f not, do. Keep your finger(s) there until Siri says to wait until three beeps.

Call Apple. No chat. Call and talk with a human. When I had an issue which required resetting and then an issue with doing the resetting I called in. The person could not resolve it and I was bumped to the next level. That person stayed on the line, had the patience of Job, and after 30+ minutes got it resolved.
