Live Voicemail Triggers Customer Support

I’m not sure what Live Voicemail is, but it is triggering automated messages I receive to continue past the automation and connect with the service’s customer support.

This means what should be short messages become 2-8 minute long encounters I have no awareness of.

What’s going on?

Yes, it’s like that, with the added step of a live agent getting connected to my voicemail as well.

This is happening more frequently, so maybe it has nothing to do with the voicemail feature and some bug with different callers

It's possible that the spammer's system is set up to route the call to a live agent once it is "answered", though in this case, it's being answered by your voicemail.

This makes more sense. Many of the robot calls, once they sense the call has been answered, will route to the next available agent. They may start to talk and realize no one is on the line and hang up. That is how robo dialers work. The person talking does not have to do the dialing, they just start their script when the dialer connects them to your answered call.

Okay, so someone is attempting to call you and you get a notification about a voicemail. Then you are checking the voicemail and this is where you are hearing this additional information? I'm not sure that is live voicemail, it seems it may be something from your carrier, since they control voicemail service. Check with them to see if there have been any changes to their voicemail service. I receive voicemail all the time from automated callers, it just seems to run its course until it disconnects.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. Someone is calling you, you are attempting to activate Live Voicemail, and then you are being prompted some type of automated messages? The only thing that should occur as you see with the link that sberman provided is you should be able to view the transcript of the message the caller is leaving? I'm not sure where this automated message is coming from on your screen.

I’m not attempting a live voicemail — I’ve been getting prompted with something about it after getting voicemails, which are usually from unknown callers / automated systems.

Some of these are genuine callers, and maybe I’m falsely associating, but from listening / reading the transcript, it’s clear something is “speaking” to the automated service.

The service is confused, and usually ends up trying to connect to a live agent, and then they get confused, and hang up.

I’m unaware when this happens since I have unknown callers silence , now I have several different minute long voice mails that would normally just be a short message.

I have certainly gotten voicemails in the past where it was some sort of robocall that was giving it's recorded spiel to my voicemail. Sometimes, it seems to start in the middle. I wonder if perhaps you're seeing something like this.
