Sudden inexplicable loss of recognition of printer

iPhone lists printer but print command results in unable to contact printer. It had been printing with no problem. Another iPhone on same systems since same time isn’t experiencing the problem

iPad printing issue Printing from my iPad no longer working. The print dialog box shows up and then In need to reselect the printer. Then message "fails to connect to printer" appears and the printer needs to again be selected. Have tried: hard restart on iPad, restarting the printer, forgetting and re-establishing the wifi network, etc. to no avail. Also had the same issue with another iPad which is now working correctly. All other network devices are able to print correctly. ios 17.2 and is current. Help appricated.

Problem with printing suddenly My iPhone is showing ‘gathering information from printer’ suddenly after using the printer for a few years. It works fine with my iPad. I have just upgraded to version 16.5 on my phone and still has the problem. Reset the printer WIFI - still a problem. Help. Must be a problem with Apple software. Switched phone off and of and struggled to choose the printer ( have 2 different printers) so clearly a programming bug. Please help Apple!!!

Try powering both devices off. Then turn the phone on and let it connect to your wi-fi. Then turn the printer on and let it finish booting up and connecting to wi-fi. See if the phone will recognize the printer. Some times things just need a reboot.
