They are different things. Allstate is an insurance provider. Apple Care+ is a warranty extension.

If you want your watch to covered for theft or loss, then go with All State.

If you just want warranty service and manufacturing defect coverage and multiple instances of accidental damage coverage, then Apple Care is enough. For Manufacturing defects, the repair or replacement is free. For accidental damage, it will have a reduced fee.

I agree 100% on the term better. As an example, I live in Florida and own a home. Needless to say, my homeowners insurance is a major concern and major expense. I do nothing to risk being dropped by my insurer and wouldn’t even think about reporting a claim like an $800 Apple Watch. Instead, I choose Apple Care+ and then self insuring for risks under $15K. It’s not worth risking being dropped by my insurer.

There is no such thing as "better", you need to determine which product suits your wants and needs so it is really up to you to do your own product research. I see you did some research after the fact and have decided to keep both Allstate and AppleCare+, a wise move.

Most of my Apple products are covered by AppleCare + and my homeowners insurance policy in the event of a theft, as you mentioned you can never have too much coverage.
