updates not happening

my apple watch se i want to update it but every time i try it tells me to update my phone first .its updated and there are no new updates for my phone iphone 8 .

i have tried unpairing watch and still the same message i have turned off the watch and the phone to see if that will correct the issue no still the same really not sure what else to do .
