Try restarting the laptop to see if that fixes the problem.
Try booting the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. While booting into the Apple Diagnostics, use the Trackpad to navigate to see if you still have the same issue. You can also test the Trackpad while booted into Recovery Mode. If the Trackpad doesn't work in Apple Diagnostics or Recovery Mode, then it indicates a hardware issue that will need to be repaired. If the Trackpad does work in these modes, then most likely it is some sort of software or configuration issue, but there is still a slim chance of it being a hardware issue.

You have a frozen touch pad? I have three ways to resolve this, 1. Connect a USB or Wireless mouse to your laptop. 2. Get a touchpad seperate from your Mac. 3. Get your touchpad replaced.
