Older .MOV videos not playing on QuickTime and when converting to MP4 via handbrake, VPL etc they become still pictures

Hi I have a lot of family videos that were filmed on older iPhones (2008-2014) in the .MOV format. I know this is no longer compatible for Quicktime and they need to be re-coded or converted. I have tried this through so many third party providers (handbrake, VPL etc) and they just convert to a still picture. For example a movie might be 575kb, but it does not show any length of time.

How can I recover these these family videos and watch them? Can I get an old version of QuickTime?

Hey there Supamod ,

I was trying to solve my own problem and thought that this link might be useful :

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/clips/id1212699939

🎬 There is an App called " Clips" that I may redownload from the App Store … I have an audio recording of a video in the Files app that I wish to play in my iTunes library , it's formatted .m4a but I don't know what to do with it and it's occupying a lot of space .

QuickTime used to be in the title , but not anymore .

⚠️ There is an app named " App Clips " which is totally different from the " Clips " App .
