Can't Move Files or Folders or Edit in my Mac desktop - iMac Desktop "frozen"

Hi am writing on my experience hoping it will help others as the info shared here on checking the Finders' sidebar helped me solve my problem. On two different occasions locking my documents before sending and then unlocking and saving them in folders ended up "freezing" my desktop for all files and folders. The files inside the folders could be moved to the Bin and shared with another device, but the files and folders could not be moved or edited within my desktop: "kept showing no permission for some of the items" when I kept re-entering my password for my user account to access the files or folders even tho their Info sections showed unlocked and I had reading and writing permissions. My OS software is updated to Ventura 13.6.1. I even applied First Aid in the utility disk app few times but it kept showing all Ok. The second time after reading about checking the Finders sidebar and clicking on all the items I found that for my named user account that was clicked the Desktop folder showed it was Locked! I went into "Info" for this Desktop folder and unlocked it and pronto my "frightening" problem of being locked out from my files completely was solved....:)). The first time logging in and out of my username account worked but not the second time. Hope my experience here is helpful to others....

To find your Finders Sidebar: Click on "Finder" in top left hand corner of your screen > click on Settings > tick the icon with a photo of a house and your username > then leave Finders > click on any folder in your Desktop and you will see on the Sidebar of this folder your username > click on your username account and you will see your folders under this account including the Desktop folder > click right on your mouse under the name Desktop and you will see "Get Info" and unlock the Desktop folder. Good luck!
