iOS 17 share sheets not working

As the title says, share sheets within apps on iOS 17 are periodically not working. iPhone 15 ProMax, latest iOS version. It's also not working on my wife's phone (iPhone 14 Pro). The share sheet pops up from within the app but then none of the buttons work. Restarting the phone sometimes fixes it but then it reverts back to the faulty behaviour soon after. We have different iCloud accounts so the phones are not linked in any way.

This is driving us nuts - We share a lot of files and not being able to do it from within an app makes for a lot of extra steps.

Searched for other people having the issue but can't see much recently so at a loss. I've tried a few things to fix it but to no avail. Wondering if it's caused by the photo app as that seems to be the one that triggers the issue, however it affects all apps when it's not working.
