Location sharing not working on my iPhone

Have they shared their location with you? If not ask them to share.

Possibly they have stopped sharing their location with you. See the pic below, which may explain their action

You may again send a request to them to start sharing their location with you.

Bolthead’s fix below worked for me.

“go in and turn off Find My- and Share My Location- force phone off- turn back on then turn on FIND My and Share Location.”

It is not clear from your post the process you are using to share your location with others.

Open the Find My app and select the People tab. Tap the Add button . Select Share My Location. Enter the name or phone number of the person that you want to share your location with. See the pic below.

2. Select the name of the person or group at the top of the conversation.
3. Select Send My Current Location. Your recipient will see your location on the map.

Found something that worked for one of our family’s phones that was having the shared location problem.

On the affected phone, go to Settings > Family > Location Sharing (May have to go into the Apple ID first on an older phone). If Automatically Share Location is turned on, turn it off for a few seconds. Mine flashed when I turned it off… but didn’t actually turn off until the second try.

After turning it back on, two phones that previously couldn’t see the phone in Find My could then see it live.

Same! Someone said to turn off your find my iPhone and location services In privacy and settings. Turn off the phone and turn it back on. The. Turn on location settings

How many times a day do we need to do this? Obviously there’s a glitch.

I tried erasing my wife’s 12 pro max and then had her send her contact information from her new phone as I theorized might work… it did not work.

”Find My” app still works fine but the location in the text messages still locates old phones last known location.

Neither my partner nor I have changed phones, and have been sharing location for 4 years. Suddenly, it always says “Location not Found” both of us have tried unsharing and reshaping, and even the Find My app just says “No Location Found”. Frustrating especially because we have one car and live in the city so suddenly it’s a lot more complicated to pick each other up.

Not sure if people are still having this issue but my daughters location suddenly stopped sharing and she couldn’t access “Find my” it was greyed out. After many attempts to fix (incl some of above) I went into her setting and she had two messages one of which was to agree to iCloud’s terms & conditions which I then did & her iCloud access was regained incl her location sharing. Viola’ so frustrating

Just set up refurbed iPhone 12 Pro Max after having an iPhone SE 2022 and now I cannot access location from messages and it is struggling to work from find my app too. So annoying. No amount of switching buttons in and off makes any difference.

Share location is not working via text. Says my location is off but it’s in. I did the quick reset- doesn’t work. I disabled and enabled location services- still doesn’t work. Apple please fix this! It’s causing issues

I just paid $1500 to replace my phone and now this pos won’t let me or my wife see where we are. For all we pay this company over the years they should have gotten this right after so many years and so many phone replacements that they rely upon. I’m so so sick of this company
