how to erase disk

I am trying to do a update but my Mac disk is full. I just want to erase everything on the disk

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

If you want to erase everything (you will lose all of your data) boot from macOS recovery while holding cmd+R on startup, after that click disk utility, select your harddrvie, click erase. After that you can install macOS anew via macOS recovery
