Will Apple help you unlock the computer that you purchased from someone else

MacBook Pro was working fine then I went to factory set it it and now it is locked apparently the person I bought it from still has it tied to an iCloud account and I cannot ask them to do it as they have moved.

Apple will help a legitimate owner of a Mac, regardless of how it was purchased. However, you will need to provide documentation showing that you are in fact its legitimate owner by producing its original, dated sales receipt, and as many properly executed bills of sale required to show an unbroken chain of custody that ends with you.
