10.2 update on Apple Watch

I’ve just done the latest update & can’t see how to lock the screen whilst it is in workout mode. This was a really useful feature particularly for boxing, is it no longer available?

You can use the water drop 💧icon in the Control Center to lock your Apple Watch from accidentally stoping your workout.

Use Control Center on Apple Watch - Apple Support

How to use Water Lock and eject water from your Apple Watch - Apple Support

You get to Control Center by a quick press and release of the flat oval side button (see picture)

DO NOT hold the button, as that will bring up Emergency services.

If you have timing issues with the quick press and release, then adjust the following:

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

I use "Slow". My Wife uses "Slowest".

The Click speed is also helpful with the Double-Press and release needed for Apple Pay.
