iPhone stuck in "preparing to sync" on my MacBook

I've tried several time to sync my iPhone 14 since the new IOS 17.2. I have a MacBook Pro. I've left it on for several hours and tried to begin over and over. It will not sync.

iPhone sync stuck on "Waiting for changes to be applied" This issue seems to have started after I upgraded to iOS 15 on my MacBook Pro and iOS 18 on my iPhone 15 Pro. When I try to sync, it gets to Step 4 "Waiting for changes to be applied" but never finishes. I restarted both devices but still have the issue.

Synching Glitch Equipment: iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 17.2.1) and iMac M3 (macOS 14.2.1) Problem: When synching iPhone to the iMac, the synchronization gets stuck at Step 3: Preparing to Sync. It will go no further, even after as long as 30 minutes. Then, after cancelling the sync, the synchronization gets stuck on Cancelling Sync and won't eject the iPhone. After 30 minutes, more or less, and still stuck on Cancelling Sync, I have to manually disconnect the iPhone. Only after all that proceeded, if I then, reconnect the iPhone to the iMac, the synchronization cycle will complete itself. This is a lot of trouble and time. Is anyone else having the same problem or has anyone else found a solution to this problem?

Cannot sync iPhone 6 to Macbook Air M1 I am trying to sync my iPhone 6 to a Macbook Air M1. It has synced a few times but it is intermittent and recently it simply does not sync. The iPhone 6 appears in Finder named correctly but the window just shows "Loading" with the rotating 'hourglass' symbol forever. I have tried the following: Cleaning socket in iPhone Both USB-C ports on the Macbook A new USB-C to Lightning cable Resetting privacy options on iPhone 6 Ensuring iPhone 6 and Macbook OSes are up-to-date Nothing seems to work. Any help appreciated.
