My Ipod 5th Generation 30gb won't sync with Music in OS Sonoma 14.2

My Ipod 5th Generation 30gb won't sync with Music. It just has the "Don't Disconnect Screen" lit

and staying on without being able to sync to music in OS Sonoma 14.2 on my mac mini 2018. Is there a fix or work around for this? I can't eject my ipod. There's no iPod icon on the desktop or in the Music program.

I managed to press the middle button and the menu button at the same time and waited for the Apple logo to come back on and it stopped all the forever hang time in the syncing. It looks like the Music program doesn't support Ipods anymore since the change to OS Sonoma 14.2. I wish Apple would make an updated version of an old school Ipod for us old timers who don't want music tracks to take up space on our iPhones and just have our iPod players be internet free and something to just play music only.
